The Race for Hybrid Pickup Dominance: JETOUR Taps Into the Game with the F700
China’s off-road pickup market is heating up, and now BYD’s Shark 6 might be getting a serious rival. Meet the JETOUR Traveler F700 (also known as JETOUR Zongheng F700) — a bold new hybrid off-road pickup truck that's been spotted in production-ready form. Previously unveiled only as a concept, the F700 is about to roll into real-world action with a striking mix of rugged styling, hybrid muscle, and smart electrification.

A Beast in the Making
JETOUR, a sub-brand of Chery, is positioning the F700 as a hardcore off-road pickup equipped to take on harsh terrains and long-distance trails. At the heart of this machine is the Kunpeng Super Hybrid CDM-O powertrain — a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) setup that pairs a 2.0TD turbocharged engine with four electric motors.
The gasoline engine produces 155 kW (208 hp) and 340 Nm of torque, with a remarkable thermal efficiency of 45.5%. But things get wild with the four-motor configuration, pushing a combined output of up to 1200 kW (yes, you read that right!). The setup includes a 2-speed DHT hybrid transmission and fast-charging battery tech — capable of charging from 20% to 80% in just 10 minutes, thanks to its 4C dual-layer “Shenxing” battery.

Rugged Looks, Refined Engineering
Unlike the concept version, the production model of the F700 sports a more practical yet aggressive design. The squared-off body, LED daytime running lights, and robust front bumper hint at its off-road DNA. The truck’s stance is upright and muscular, with angular rear lights and a beefy rear end to match. Expect generous approach angles and high ground clearance for tackling trails with ease.
While full specs are still under wraps, one thing is clear: JETOUR is not pulling punches. They're building a truck that’s ready to go head-to-head with top-tier hybrid off-roaders — particularly BYD’s recently unveiled Shark 6.

How Does It Compare to the BYD Shark 6?
The Shark 6 PHEV from BYD set the bar high earlier this year with its 1.5L turbocharged engine and dual electric motors producing a combined 321 kW and 650 Nm of torque. The flagship version even includes off-road enhancements like extended-travel suspension, upgraded wheels, underbody protection, and a front-mounted winch.
JETOUR’s F700 seems poised to challenge — or even outgun — the Shark 6 in terms of raw electric power. With a total of four motors and lightning-fast charging, it’s shaping up to be a tech-savvy, rugged alternative in the new era of electrified pickups.

Charging Made Easy — Even for Hybrid Trucks
Even though it’s a hybrid, the F700 benefits from fast and flexible charging, making it suitable for both long journeys and daily urban commutes. For owners looking to install a reliable home or commercial charger that supports PHEVs and EVs alike, we recommend our high-performance Type 2 EV Charger. It’s perfectly suited for powerful hybrids like the F700 and ensures you're always road-ready.

With its aggressive design and cutting-edge hybrid drivetrain, the JETOUR F700 is not just another Chinese pickup — it’s a statement of intent. As the market for rugged plug-in hybrid trucks continues to grow, the battle between the F700 and BYD Shark 6 is shaping up to be a thrilling one to watch. If you're considering a next-gen hybrid truck, the F700 might just be worth the wait.
